Help, I Bought a used Canon 550d asking about shutter count

Hii all

I bought a used Dslr camera it's Canon EOS Rebel T2i / 550D / , it's condition is very good no scratches no dust in the body or the kit lens, what i'm

asking about is i found its shutter counter at aprox 5700 release. So what do you think about it is good or not.

Also can anybody tell me what test can i do to ensure it's ok.

Hi,
a shutter count with 5700 is ok - the cam is designed for more than 80.000. How old is your cam - I have the same modell and shot 9000 photos in three months... so I think, if there is no dust or scratches in and on the body - have fun with your cam.

Is this shutter count the 'official' from a Canon service point or obtained with some special software? Or is it just the file number of the next photo? If the latter, it doesn't mean anything. If memory cards get transferred among cams, they also transfer this 'shutter count'. If it's the first, I think it's ok, too. The shutter should live much longer than that and the general condition may not so much depend on the number of pics taken but rather how careful the previous owner generally was.
